Facilities and Grounds
Facilities and Grounds is one of the most behind-the-scenes ministries in the church, but it makes a major difference.
Every clean room, repaired leak, working furnace, mowed lawn, plowed parking lot, safe walkway, and prepared space helps ministry happen.
This team helps care for the building and property so people can gather, worship, learn, serve, and connect in a safe and welcoming environment.
Building Care
Church buildings require regular care.
Facilities and Grounds helps with practical needs such as repairs, maintenance, cleaning, inspections, setup, improvements, and problem-solving around the property.
Some needs are planned. Others show up unexpectedly. Either way, this ministry helps respond so the church can continue to function well.
Repairs and Maintenance
From fixing a leak to checking a furnace, small details can become big issues if they are ignored.
This ministry helps identify and address maintenance needs throughout the building. That may include plumbing, heating, electrical concerns, doors, lighting, flooring, equipment, classrooms, restrooms, and other areas of the church.
The work may not always be visible, but it is deeply appreciated.
Grounds Care
The outside of the church matters too.
Facilities and Grounds helps care for mowing, trimming, landscaping, parking areas, sidewalks, and seasonal needs around the property.
A cared-for property helps welcome guests, serves our church family, and communicates that we take seriously the space God has entrusted to us.
Snow Removal and Seasonal Needs
In every season, the property needs attention.
During the winter, that may mean plowing, salting, clearing sidewalks, and making sure people can enter safely. In the summer, it may mean mowing, outdoor maintenance, and preparing spaces for special events.
This ministry helps make sure the church is ready and accessible throughout the year.
Behind-the-Scenes Service
Facilities and Grounds is a ministry of faithfulness.
Much of the work happens when no one is watching. It may involve early mornings, late nights, emergency fixes, routine cleaning, or quiet preparation before others arrive.
But this work matters because it supports every ministry that happens in the building.
Serving with Practical Gifts
Some people serve best with tools in their hands, a mower under them, a checklist in front of them, or a willingness to help wherever needed.
If you enjoy fixing, cleaning, organizing, maintaining, improving, or caring for practical needs, Facilities and Grounds may be a great place for you to serve.
